I bought my first Land Rover in 1987 and I have been in the 4x4 and touring industry ever since. I’ve been all over southern Africa: Namibia, Botswana, Northern Cape, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Swaziland, Lesotho, and the whole of South Africa. Overlanding is my game and nature is my calling.

I started my own touring company in 2002 and specialised in taking people to the Richtersveld. Soon I offered  tours to many desert areas in Namibia and Botswana. I would pack my trusty Landcruiser with everything required to cater for up to 20 people for a week, and head out to the most desolate areas. We would be completely self-sufficient.

After eight years of touring I tried my hand at journalism, doing freelance work for WegRy and Drive Out, South Africa’s most popular overlanding magazine. I eventually became the Gear and Equipment Editor on a freelance basis. I researched gear and accessories and produced an expert article every month. I would try out 4x4 equipment and would give my opinion on quality. I would device comparative performance tests and write about the results. In short, I became a very experienced expert on gear. During this time I developped very good relatioships with all the main camping and 4x4 suppliers.

I believe in excellence and I have a passion for well equiped-touring. This led me to see the need in the 4x4 community for an executive 4x4 kit consultant and fixer. Using my vast experience of the challenges that extreme 4x4 and overlanding situations put to vehicles, I will present you with an equipment plan for you vehicle fit for your budget. I will also take your vehicle from the shop floor right through the process to become bush ready.
